The Origin Story
Founded by a doctor who saw the gap
When working in the Emergency Room as a physician, Dr. Sundeep Varma saw the same pattern over and over. Older adults arrived with falls and fractures — most of which followed an infection. An infection that had been showing signs for days, sometimes weeks, before the fall.
The data had been there all along — on their wrist, in an Apple Watch, logging every heartbeat, every restless night. But no one was connecting the dots. By the time the family noticed, it was too late for a simple fix.
“I kept thinking — what if someone had just noticed two days ago?”
That question is what sparked Harmoni. A wellness tool that reads the data the Apple Watch is already collecting, learns what's normal for each person, and gently nudges the family when something shifts.
The data was already there. Their Apple Watch was collecting it every day. No one was using it to help families stay connected. I wanted to change that — without turning anyone's home into a surveillance zone.

Before we implement any feature, we always ask:
“Would I trust this for my own grandmother?”
If a feature feels intrusive, patronising, or confusing — it doesn't ship. Every screen, every notification, every word is tested against the dignity of the person wearing the watch.
Our vision
We want to change how aging feels. Not with more technology in the home, but with less intrusion and more connection. A world where families don't have to choose between respecting independence and knowing their loved one is okay.
